Today, the Child Care Food Program Roundtable and the National CACFP Forum shared with the USDA transition team a letter on behalf of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This letter outlines, for the incoming administration, immediate actions and long term priorities that can be taken to support CACFP.
The Roundtable and Forum made both administrative and legislative recommendations which ranged from regular programmatic items and COVID-19 related asks. You can read the whole letter here (link).
Why did we do this?
Well, if you attended the CCFP Roundtable Conference you may have heard Geri Henchy talk about the importance of educating the incoming administration about the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). We have an opportunity to make an impact on the incoming administration as they begin to put in place their plans for the future of child nutrition programs. We took step one and will continue to raise up the CACFP communities voice and needs as we look ahead to the next administration.
