#savechildcare - Child Care Paper Roundup

Several papers have come out this month about the state of child care, rebuilding it and the continued crisis the already fragile field is experiencing. Advocates have been calling, emailing and writing Congress for months now telling them the child care industry needs 50 billion dollars to survive. A last push for the funding in a pandemic relief bill has filled social media feeds and news outlets this week. Below are some of the insightful papers and reports that have been released.

The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) published a two page analysis of their most recent survey of the early education field. “The situation is dire for child care providers—the ones that are still open. Add to that the thousands of providers that have already closed and the magnitude of this national crisis is much, much greater.” — Rhian Evans Allvin, CEO, NAEYC (link)

Transforming Child Care: Cross-Community Voices to Inform Change.
