When CACFP Sponsors and providers are juggling all of the responsibilities that come with the job it can be hard to set aside the time and money to create materials to help people understand what CACFP is, the impact of healthy child nutrition and how to provide the children with those healthy meals. The great news is, you don't have to. These resources can help!
Growing a Healthier Future with the CACFP Infographic from Team Nutrition provides facts about CACFP and tips for eating healthier for children. (link) It is available in English and Spanish and free print copies can be ordered!
Serve Tasty and Healthy Foods in the Child and Adult Care Food Program: Sample Meals for Children Ages 3-5. (link). This poster gives quick ideas for a CACFP breakfast, lunch or snack and it has the meal pattern requirement serving sizes right on it. A great way to show parents what your program serves and even use it for ideas when you're in a pinch! It is available in English and Spanish and free print copies can be ordered! There are also posters for ages 1-2 (link), 6-18 (link) and for adult meals (link).
Nibbles for Health: Nutrition Newsletters for Parents of Young Children (link). These are 12 newsletters in both English and Spanish that focus on why CACFP how, what and why providers are serving the foods they are serving in child care, such as Child Care: What Will My Child Eat? (link). They also give parents ideas for serving healthy meals and snacks like Healthy Snacks with Smiles (link). You can find all twelve here (link) and order free print copies!
