TONYA MUHAMMAD
Tonya has been a family daycare provider for over 30 years and "providing quality daycare has always been my mission." She started off as a small daycare home, quickly growing to a large license. She was the first provider in her city to become nationally accredited by the NAFCC. Tonya is a mentor and consultant to other providers, an author, a podcaster, and a global social media star. "One thing that has always been important to me is the quality of meals served in our facilities. When you know better you do better and therefore I host meetings on serving our daycare children healthy nutritious meals and snacks." She is affectionately known as the GOAT and "voice" of providers. You can follow along with Tonya on Instagram.
RICK RICHARDSON, MA, MMAS, MS
Rick has been the President and CEO of Child Development Associates (CDA) since 2011. Rick joined CDA as a retired U.S. Army Colonel following his 24 years of service. His deep connection to CDA’s mission is based on his personal experience with childhood poverty and his mother’s struggles as a single parent. Rick’s passion to create positive change in the community is reflected in his leadership roles at the State and local level. Rick currently serves on the Board of the California Alternative Payment Program Association (CAPPA) and is a member of the San Diego County Child Care and Development Planning Council, where he passionately advocates for children, parents, and child care providers. Rick is also an active member of EveryChild California and the Chula Vista Charitable Foundation.
TINA SADARANGANI, PhD, RN, ANP-BC, GNP-BC
Dr. Sadarangani is an NIH-funded Principal Investigator and board certified primary care nurse practitioner specializing in care of older adults. She is cross-appointed as an assistant professor in the NYU College of Nursing as well as the School of Medicine Department of Population Health. Her program of research is underscored by a profound commitment to advancing the health of minoritized older adults by leveraging the strengths of community-based adult day health care centers to target health disparities. In the last three years, she has expanded her program of research to focus, specifically, on identifying and addressing the healthcare needs of cognitively impaired older immigrants, by using the adult day health center as a platform for the delivery of culturally and linguistically congruent care. Her on-going collaborations with the California Association of Adult Day Services, as well as other community-based organizations, have demonstrated that integrating adult day centers into the healthcare continuum contributes to reductions in avoidable healthcare utilization, particularly by reducing nutritional risk.
LETICIA MARIN, CDM
Leticia’s passion for nutrition and food service prompted her to enter the food service industry early in her career. When she first moved to San Diego, she started a job in one of San Diego’s largest non-profit organizations, not knowing this would turn into life-long career. 17 years later, she is the second in command of her department and continues to thrive in the nutrition and food service world. While working full time, Leticia found time to achieve several goals in her career and education. She completed her degree in hospitality and business management and became a Certified Dietary Manager. Her passion to serve and inspire others has led her to serve on the Item Writing Committee for the Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals (ANFP) as well as to present at different conferences.
The CACFP Roundtable is committed to fostering a community of leaders who work together to build equitable access to the Child and Adult Care Food Program and nutritious meals in care settings.
