The California Department of Education (CDE) Nutrition Services Division (NSD) announced a new online course focused on food safety in CACFP.
Who Should Participate?
child and adult day care center directors,
teachers,
food service personnel, and
family day care home providers.
What Will I Learn?
Participants will learn basic food safety principles, including:
steps for proper handwashing and cleaning,
cooking foods to proper temperatures,
how to prevent food contamination, and
additional food safety considerations, such as serving food safely during field trips, power outages, and when pets are present.
In addition, this online course includes a special section on food safety requirements and recommendations while serving meals during the Novel Coronavirus pandemic.
