USDA FNS has announced that the 2023 CACFP and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) participant area eligibility data are available. The data, which is a special tabulation of data provided by the Census Bureau, establish area eligibility in CACFP and SFSP and are effective as of October 1, 2022.
Area eligibility is not necessary for establishing tiering for family child care homes at this time. This is a temporary policy established by Congress in the Keep Kids Fed Act and will end on June 30, 2023.
