Many of us have been talking about and implementing family style meal service for a long time. USDA made it a best practice in the new meal patterns and we were all delighted with the progress. Then a worldwide pandemic comes along and it is no longer recommended to do family style meal service. While we hit pause on this best practice the California Department of Education created a tip sheet and Q&A for a COVID-19 friendly style of meal service in child care programs.
