CDE to CDSS Transition Plan Draft Published for Comment

The California Department of Social Services has published the Child Care and Development Transition Plan Draft for public comment.

You can find the plan here. The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) part starts on page 45. This transition plan discusses an overview of the immediate and long-term operational transition efforts.

A few things to know:

• CDSS will be holding a webinar on March 4th for a walk through (link to register)

• Public comment is open now through March 16th.

• Submit your comment using this survey form (link to public comment form).

• Final version will be posted on April 1st.

Last year the Governor signed a budget that (among many other things) will transfer many child care and development programs to the California Department of Social Services (CDSS). This includes the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and is set to become effective on July 1, 2021.
